San Jose, CA– February 9, 2007 – FDK America announced it was named a finalist in CMP Technology's EE Times 2007 Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards for Ultimate Product
of the Year in the Power Category. The selection was made for FDK’s Senpai
Series FPMR12TR7508NA non-isolated point of load (POL) dc/dc converter.
Delivering 8 Amps in the smallest industry-standard footprint, the FPMR12TR7508NA converter of the Senpai Series provides 60% higher output current than other available POL converters in the same input voltage range. The power density of up to 600Watts/cubic inch sets a new standard for power delivery in this footprint and pin-out. No derating is required. FDK’s Senpai Series converters are designed for Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) and Distributed Power Architecture (DPA) applications that require high efficiency, tight regulation, and high reliability in elevated temperature environments with low airflow.
“We are honored to be a finalist for the EE Times ACE Awards,” said Katsuya Fujii, president and CEO of FDK America, Inc.
“We are especially pleased to receive recognition from individuals in the
industry who regularly specify, design, and purchase these kinds of products.
FDK focuses its efforts precisely on satisfying the demands of these people.
This product reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high performance,
high quality, and cost effective dc/dc converter products to the marketplace.”
The Ultimate Products of the Year Award is presented to the most significant product introduced in each of seven categories over the last 12 months, and is determined by large-scale peer review. A group of expert editors sends a list of nominees and editorial reviews of each product to qualified readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter.com. Finalists are chosen on a quarterly basis via electronic balloting.
“This year’s ACE Awards finalists mark a shift in the industry, as the
electronics industry becomes more focused on creating technologies attractive
to consumers – from educational toys, to microphones, cell phones, and
light sensors,” said Brian Fuller, editor in chief, EE Times. “The 2007 finalists represent the execution of forward-thinking technologies
and creativity that captures the imagination of consumers, illustrating
the influence that electronics and embedded design professionals have on
today’s culture.”
The EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards will be presented at the EE Times ACE Awards Gala on April 3, 2007, in San Jose, California.
