| Senpai Low Input Voltage POLs Deliver up to 10A in Smallest Industry-Standard

FDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st Section: Code 6955) announced
the latest products in the Senpai Series of non-isolated point of load
(POL) converters with the addition of dc/dc converters designed to operate
from a 2.4 Volt -5.5Volt (V))DC input bus. Delivering up to 10 Amperes
(A) in the smallest industry-standard footprint, the FPMR05SR75 Senpai
Series converters provide up to 67% higher output current than other available
POL converters in the same input voltage range, and, with a power density
of up to 475 Watts/cubic inch, set a new standard for power delivery in
this footprint and range. These dc/dc converters are designed for Intermediate
Bus Architecture (IBA) and Distributed Power Architecture (DPA) applications
that require high efficiency, tight regulation, and high reliability in
elevated temperature environments with low airflow.
The FPMR05SR75 Senpai Series converters are offered in 3A, 5A, 6A, 8A,
and 10A output current models, in a 0.8x0.45x0.211 inch (20.3x11.4x5.35mm)
SMD package with industry-standard footprint and pin-out. They provide
tightly-regulated programmable output voltages in the range of 0.75V -3.63V
DC. All models feature remote ON/OFF, over-current and over-temperature
protection, and output voltage adjust, and are compatible with standard
trim equations.
These Senpai Series converters deliver full-rated output current, with
little or no derating, at high ambient temperatures, with minimal airflow.
With a 5.0V DC input and 3.3V DC output, in an ambient of 85 degrees Celsius
with natural convection cooling, the 3A to 8A models provide full-rated
current, and the 10A model provides 9A. This best-in-class thermal performance
results from electrical, thermal, and packaging design that is optimized
for high density circuit card conditions.

All Senpai Series products are RoHS compliant. They are manufactured using
FDK's state-of-the-art in-house manufacturing processes and systems. In
quantities of 1,000 pieces, the 3A, 5A, 6A, 8A, and 10A models are priced
at $4.50, $6.00, $6.50, $8.00, and $9.50, respectively. Samples are available
