Tokyo, Japan– July 12, 2007 – FDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange 1st Section: Code 6955) announced
it was selected by the readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter as an Ultimate
Products Award winner in the Power Category. FDK won for its FPMR05SR7510
Senpai Series non-isolated point-of-load (POL) converter that operates
from a 2.4 Volt – 5.5 Volt DC input bus and delivers up to 10 Amperes in
the smallest industry-standard footprint. The FPMR05SR7510 was also judged
number 1 in usability.
The winning FDK converter provides up to 67% higher output current than other available POL converters
in the same input voltage range. The power density of up to 475 Watts/cubic inch sets a new standard
for power delivery in this footprint and range. The Senpai Series dc/dc converters are designed for
Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) and Distributed Power Architecture (DPA) applications that require
high efficiency, tight regulation, and high reliability in elevated temperature environments.
The Ultimate Products Award is presented quarterly. Up to ten of the most significant products
of the quarter are selected by the editors of EE Times and posted on the
www.eeProductCenter.com website. Then, using an electronic balloting process, the products
are ranked by selected qualified readers. The product that ranks highest in each of seven
categories is judged most technically significant for that category. Relative usability rankings
and selected reader comments are also reported.
“Once again the editors and readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter have honored us by selecting
an FDK converter as their choice for an Ultimate Product,” said Katsuya Fujii, president and CEO
of FDK America, Inc. “We will continue to design and manufacture innovative high performance,
high quality, and cost effective dc/dc converter products to meet the needs of the marketplace.”
EE Times and eeProductCenter, part of the CMP Technology Electronics Group, serve a core audience
of engineers and technical managers, who lead the way in innovation and design, as well as
operational and corporate management.
